Felicity Gardner

Andrew Daddo

Felicity Gardner lives in the Western Suburbs of Sydney and is the illustrator of four picture books published by Hachette Australia.

Her first book Where’s My Potty? was published in 2013, which was shortly followed up by Snowy and Snuffles and My Grumpy Day. Felicity’s most recent book is The Complete Guide to a Dog’s Best Friend, which she co-authored with her husband David West. They based the story around their own dog, Banjo, who is the bossiest member of their family.

Felicity has a Diploma of Fine Arts and an Advanced Diploma of Design and Illustration Skills. For as far back as she can remember, Felicity has always loved picture books and animation. When she was a child, she was constantly drawing everything she could imagine, on anything she could draw on (and some things she shouldn’t draw on!)

Before working in picture books, Felicity ran her own art workshops at local primary schools. She would be happy to run a creative workshop with your students, exploring the art of illustration. Workshop sessions can include experimenting with watercolour techniques, character design (designing wombats) and how to storyboard a picture book.

She now lives with teacher husband David and their very playful and at times naughty dog Banjo.
